I have finished The Hunger Games trilogy.  It wasn't awful, but it wasn't great.  The more I think on it though, the more disappointed I am with how the trilogy ended.  And the more I think it's not a good book for an audience of young adults.

I have finally finished my cross stich project!  Within the adoption world, the "waiting game" is a killer.  One thing people suggest to do during this period is to start a project specifically related to the baby; a scrapbook, make a photo album in preparation, paint the nursery, etc.  John's sister, while she was pregnant with Cameron, crocheted ( Read more... )

 I finally got my book!  The newest book in the Black Jewels Saga that was just released in paperback is here and I have all day to dive into my favorite world.  *bookgasm!*

Ah, Anne Bishop.  Where would my life be without you?  To imagine a life not knowing this world, not knowing these characters... it's just too horrifying a thought.

Since Christmas, I've reread the Black Jewels books - all seven of them.  I'm such a dork.  I started with the book of short stories and read them in order to where they fall within the series.  I read the prequel book, the main trilogy and then the two that came after.  The next one comes out in paperback on March 11th and I really thought I would ( Read more... )

 I've not read a book since the middle of July.  Yes, that's right.  It's been that damn long since I've read anything, mainly because I started cross stitching and then started and finished the adoption profile.  And now I have more cross stitching that must be finished before Christmas.

I've finally finished the last of the Sookie Stackhouse books.  I've read through my book 8, then borrowed 9 and a collection of shorts from Lauri.  Like all series, it waxed and waned as far as how good each book was, but overall, it's completely addicting.  I read through all nine so fast that I can't really distinguish one from another - though ( Read more... )

Wow.  I can honestly say that I have finally seen a HP movie that I'm actually impressed with.

I went after work and bought our tickets for the 8:15 showing.  By the time we got there at 7:45, all showings were sold out.

The audience was quite responsive throughout the entire movie; laughter, comments, etc.  When the movie ended, there was silence. ( Read more... )
